Blackgang chine I.O.W 28/02/2008
Investigation start time 8.30pm
Investigation closed 1.00am
We were all extremely excited about our first investigation as a team, getting Blackgang Chine was to be honest probably one of the best Establishments we could have hoped for.
When we all arrived we were introduced to night guard Dave, cheerful soul very happy to accommodate us. Thankfully there was a tea urn so all members very happy about that. So after initial briefing we all decided to head over to Rumpus Mansion to set up camera and trigger objects.
On the way up to the Manson Dave advised me how old the building was and a little history into what its purpose was all a long time ago. The fact we were close to the sea and basically walking along a cliff made the wind a little biting and very chilly, but no temp was recorded at that time.
We reached the house and were all amazed at its drawing presence, Heather seemed happy for us to enter and felt no bad or negative energy for us to be overly concerned about. After standing outside the front of the house taking pictures we all headed up towards the extension built in the 1800's which is attached to the old Manor House its purpose being originally for nannies. This is where we all started to feel unsteady on our feet, like we were beginning to sway.
Dave unlocked the house and we entered, Judith and Heather guided the team to where they felt drawn, on the way through we reached the original staircase and laid our EVP recorder in the corner of the room along with our first trigger object a small child’s Basketball. We advised the recorder what we had left and how we had left it, along with photos, and noted the area in which the Tape Recoder was being left.
Further along the corridor we stepped into several abandoned and deteriorating rooms, Judith picked up on a dark figure standing in the corner of the room. We called out to the spirit (time 9.17pm) but it was to no avail at this time. Therefore left trigger object number 2, small toy dog, using the same principles as object number one. Several orb like shapes were captured on team’s cameras, however torches began to drain and cameras which were previously working normally began to have the batteries drained also.
We made our way back to the stairs leading to the attic, once in the attic we laid our third trigger object, toy car, using the same principles as before. We set up the night vision camera and left the building.
Next stop Old Saw Mill. Very Interesting building also used to be part of an old house on the same site. Team measured temperature and found it to be a lot warmer in the top part. After investigating this it was found that a small electric heater was on. Photos taken temps recorded but nothing in the ordinary jumped out at this time.
Tea stop. . . . . . . (Pot noodle for me) 10pm
10.20, Investigation restarts, Team head slowly back towards Rumpous Mansion. Very interesting pictures taken along the way, many orbs that need to be looked at thoroughly to credit. Judith picked up on energy on an old monkey puzzle tree, but due to weather we abandoned trying to divulge further due to wind speed and wind noise. However photos taken along with temperature, min temp 12 degrees.
After much deliberation of which way we were going we finally made it to the weather Wizards House, again this was actually an old house which has been built around using its foundations and structure. However walking though this house yielded no activity or energy for our sensitive’s and developing medium to pick up on. So with that in mind we walked on and entered the Triassic Period. Small house built on top of the previous owner’s swimming pool, Investigators nightmare White Walls, photos taken and possible orbs caught. No evidence of activity or energy however being pulled to our medium and sensitive’s.
Short walk back to the house, pictures taken along the way of the house from behind. Whilst taking the pictures I noticed an orange glow dash across the bottom of the house, my team partner Rich also noted a light but thought it may have come from the middle window. That’s the same place I saw the light go across, but I saw it continue and disappear. Ciggie stop ! ! Then excitedly we jogged to the house. As we walked up to the front Judith asked me to take some pictures ahead as she felt a presence, so happily I snapped away. I continued to snap these photos all the way to the Nanny Quarters door at the side of the old house. What we caught on camera I cannot explain, only that it is the strangest mist that I have seen in a long while. It seemed to take shape however I couldn’t see it with the naked eye. Quickly I took a second photo as they had just opened the door just as Mandy and Heather had entered no mist on second photo????? Truly exciting.
We set ourselves upstairs in the attic, checked the camera and it had stopped recording? So upon checking the footage it was noted that the night vision was not clear enough. However the footage was kept to be checked for any strange noises ect. . . Although it was noted the third trigger object had not moved. So began the Vigil. . . Judith started to call out and just as we thought nothing was happening it was noted by Heather that we were being watched, I asked Judith what she felt was here and they both advised it was a child’s presence. Judith felt it was a male presence. During the Vigil we all had experiences, we all heard groans and dragging sounds.
11.30 we all made our way back downstairs to try a vigil in another area. We all sat in the middle of the building next to the original banisters, EVP recorder will have picked us up. During this time Richard and I heard what can only be described as a stone being thrown, we headed of to the room on our right to investigate. We entered the room and started to film, we checked the window and noted that the window sill was becoming old and the wood frame was rotting, as we pulled the net curtain a stone dropped from the top of the frame. Therefore we noted any noises of things being thrown could be put down to the old window becoming loose.
During this time Lou was filming towards the stairs to the attic, whilst recording orbs seemed to fly in front of the camera these orbs were moving sideways and up. They became more intense when Judith was calling out; Judith has a very calming voice and comes across very mothering so perhaps these spirits seemed to feed from this. Two team members left the area at 11.45 as nature was calling.
So the four of us headed to the stairs for another vigil. Whilst calling out orbs were still seen hovering around myself and knocking was noted when calling out. However, for myself the knocking was random and not always in response to our questions. No more groans detected and it began to become flat. We made the decision to call it a night and go through our footage and arrange a second visit in June 09. Perhaps then we can set up all our equipment in Rumpous Mansion and hold a full Vigil fully concentrating on this area, as the evidence we have so far confirms our mediums suspicions that this is the most active area inside the grounds.
