Can I start this V.I.P write up with saying a very big thank you to Tony the manager of the hotel and Nicky for letting us do a paranormal investigation into the hotel with only hours of notice? We were shown around the hotel by Tony, who unlocked every door that we could go into. There was one guest room that was being used. We decided to use room 1 for our base for the evening. The reading for this room was Hum 81% Temp 9.1c This seemed very strange so Alison left the reader on for a while to see if it would change. And about ten minutes later the reading was, Hum42% Temp17.9c Jules and Mandy were placing some trigger objects around the hotel rooms. One was placed Where Tony’s wife had seen a strange figure of a man near the laundry cupboard so they placed Russian dolls near the cupboard also on the stairs two stacks of coins. On the way to room 6-10 they placed a wooden cat that was drawn around, which had a camera facing it. Also all the curtains were pulled shut to block out the light and we did not start investigating these rooms until at least half an hour had passed so any dust could settle from the curtains being pulled. Elvis and Kelly were sorting out the camera near the laundry room. And Hettie and Linda were having a walk around on their own to see if they could pick up on any spirits. (There is no history of the building on the walls etc). We started the investigation in room 6. Hum 39% Temp 23.2c Linda was sitting on the bed and she said that she was getting a tingling feeling and also when she walked the corridors earlier on that evening. Elvis and Hettie decided to walk the corridor to the far end room which was room number 10. While the rest of the team went into room number 7, the readings in this room were Hum 32% Temp 26.8c While in this room Hettie felt a tapping on her head. While Linda was told by some one to sit up right and be good! Then Mandy then said who said that, we all asked what, she replied that someone had just said excuse me… we as in the team did not have no reason to say this as we were all settled in this room. We did not get much more in this room. Room 10 Hum 36% Temp 25.3c We all sat quietly in this room and started to call out. Jules was leaning up against the radiator but all of a sudden she moved because she heard and felt a knocking on the radiator, then a long cry out. As we sat in silence we could all hear what seem like footsteps outside in the corridor. We opened the door and shouted out to see if Nicky or Tony was looking for us, we could not see or hear them shouting for us so we shut the door only for the footsteps to be heard again. And we sat for some time in silence, still hearing faint knocking sounds. As we knew the night was slipping away from us the team had a really quick break. We all went back in to room 10. Hum 23% Temp27c When we all got settled we started to call again, Hettie came out with the name Sarah. Then Kelly heard someone say “NO”. Again we sat in silence, but this time with the bedroom door open. The noise’s still continued, and Hettie could see movement right at the bottom of the corridor. Hoping that the Sony handy cams would pick up these sounds, or any think else Kelly sat in the doorway, while Elvis was in the bedroom. We then decided to see if the spirits would come forward to us on the spirit board. On the board were Alison, Elvis, Hettie and Linda. We asked for the spirits to come forward then the glass started to move. We started to ask the spirit some questions... Are you in the room with us - yes (and the glass was moving very slow to start with). Centre the glass please. Are you still with us? Yes Are you are little girl? Are you a young Lady? Are you a lady? Yes Can you tell us how old you are? 3 4 Can you confirm for us that you are 34? Yes Can you spell out you name? S R R Can you please start again? L M L What does that mean? Hello Can you please try and spell you name out again? K E L L E Is that your name? Are you trying to talk to Kelly? Yes Do I remind you of you? Do I remind you of someone? Please what is the first letter of your name? P Next? E Have I seen you before? A very strong pull by the glass to Yes Are you part of my family? Goodbye Are you still there? After the Goodbye the board went very quiet. So we closed the board down. The Team did check out the other three bedrooms but we did not feel or hear anything strange in these rooms. So we the V.I.P team called it a night and we packed our equipment away, and left the spirit to walk the corridors once again. This location was well worth its wait, but would love to go back as the Claredon hotel is joined to the Wight Mouse public house. Kelly’s Thoughts. . This hotel is fantastic, the staff have put their heart and soul into every room and you feel that from the moment you enter. Whilst the front part of this hotel is relatively quiet and in my mind not in any way active the back part certainly makes up for that. I recommended a full investigation into the corridor leading to room 10 and the room itself. 10/10 for all paranormal enthusiasts.
