Unfortunately, I have no grand, spectacular story to tell. I've been interested in "mysterious" and "unknown" topics for as long as I can remember - UFO's, Bigfoot, Ghosts, the Pyramids, etc. However, with that being said, as I have gotten a bit older the realization of my own mortality has certainly helped to drive my interest in paranormal research. Personally, I prefer a digital recorder, as it is much simpler to download and analyse, however, there are folks who are still very enamoured with analogue recording devices. The problem, however, is that analogue cassette recorders have mechanical elements (motor, capstan, tape) which all make noise... and which the integral microphone will easily pick up. In addition, there is a chance that the digitisation process (from tape to PC) will introduce additional artefacts into the source signal. Beyond the recorder, I believe it is important to have an open mind, and ask specific questions in which the responses might be corroborated via research. I believe that everyone is "sensitive" to a certain extent. All of us have at one time or another experienced a "gut" feeling. Whether you refer to it as intuition, psychic abilities, or just rote luck... everyone seems capable of "knowing" or "feeling" things, which are outside of our five traditional senses. Being "psychic" seems to be all the rage now - so, I have no doubt that we are seeing quite a few "copy cats" come out of the woodwork. Paratracker is extremely useful for paranormal investigation due to the fact that it allows easy case management, as well as data and evidence storage. The software was designed due to the fact that we were unable to find any off-the-shelf software that would help us to effectively organize all aspects of running a paranormal group. I don't think there really is a "for sure" answer to this. I truly believe that everyone should pay attention to all of the details in their life regardless. Going through life with blinders on is no way to truly LIVE. LOL, nice try! :) I have a screenplay, which was just optioned by Bruce Lucas films entitled "19 Hertz." It is loosely based on my second book "The Resonance Key." This is my first foray into science fiction and I'm having a ton of fun writing it! Who knew I was so creative? LOL. In addition to working on that, ARPAST has shot one pilot for a potential series highlighting scientific investigation of the paranormal. Wow, this is a very, very cool question. 3 guests? Hmmm. Ok, here we go. 1) Nikola Tesla (real, deceased) 2) Albert Einstein (real, deceased) 3) Socrates (real, deceased) 4) Mark Twain (fictional) 5) James Bond (fictional) 6) Indiana Jones (fictional) As far as why? Well, let's see! Tesla - he was an absolute genius... and very much ahead of his time. Much of our technology today is based upon his work. Einstein - the grandfather of physics. He paved the way for many concepts integral to an understanding of the nature of our reality. Plato - the father of Western philosophy. Mark Twain - he had some incredible travels on the river, and his view of the world at the time would be a fascinating contrast with modern day. James Bond - easy... all those gadgets and women! Finally, Indiana Jones - the quintessential explorer. He has explored for treasure, religious artefacts, and was privy to solid proof of extraterrestrial existence.
