Wheatshef Hotel & Pub

We arrived at the Hotel at 9ish, it was a chilly/cold night, we arrived at the location a little earlier than usual as we had decided to do a live so that viewers could see what a paranormal team get up to. Which went down very well because at one point we had 12 viewers. Maggie the Manager of the Hotel welcomed the team to the location. She then showed the team upstairs to the Cromwell room, which we used as our base room, this is where Kelly set up the web cam for its first position of the night. Maggie then showed Alison and Jules around the hotel rooms that have the most paranormal/ghostly going on. The hallways and the rooms are amazing, so very oldie worldie if you know what I mean & the Walls, floors & ceilings are very uneven. Sightseeing over. That left Kelly setting up the web cam for the live in the Cromwell room, Elvis and Mandy set up the wireless cam and dvd player in room 1. While Jules and Alison placed some trigger objects in the three seperate rooms. In room 1 there was three Russian dolls, placed on a piece of paper and drawn around. In room 6 on the side table an upside down plastic cup with a stack of 1p’s on the top, also we put the chair up close so they could not be knocked over by the members of the team in the dark. In room 12 there was an old cigarette tin placed upside down, and some matches spelling the word Jules. Back in the Cromwell room the web cam was up and running with the plasma ball in sight. The first readings were taken in the Cromwell room, Hum 46% Temp 15.2c. Hettie then said that the room has seen many grand events; this room is a grand room. The team then left the Cromwell room with the live web cam running. The Team split into two groups. Group one was Alison, Chris, Hettie and the two guest’s Paul and Elaine. Group two was the girls Kelly, Mandy and Jules. Group one went into room 6 Alison took some readings. Hum 28% Temp 26.8c We all placed ourselves quietly in the room, Hettie said that she sensed that there was a lot of chasing around this building at one time, also doors slamming and knocking. Elvis then asked Paul our guest if he sensed anything as his face had seem to change to Elvis, He said that he could see something behind Hettie but was unsure if it was connected to the building or if it was her aura. So he moved a little closer to Hettie and he decided that it seemed to be her aura shining very bright to him. Kelly contacted Elvis to see if they were getting any activity. After sitting there for a good half an hour Kelly said to Elvis lets swap rooms and see about changing the energies. So the two groups changed rooms, Alison then took another reading in room 6, which was, Hum 30% Temp28.6c But the team will tell you we did not see or hear any thing Paranormal. So the Team decided it was time for a break and see if any one had seen anything on the web cam while we was not in the Cromwell room. But no-one reported anything apart from one person that said they could hear running water. And I can asure you there was no running water in the room and we was not near a kitchen or the toilets, and it was not raining. While the team were having a cigarette Alison and Jules set up the spirit board in the middle of the room, also Kelly moved the web cam so that the viewers could see the board. On the board were Alison, Hettie, Paul and Jules. The glass did not move, we also got Mandy on the board for more energy, it moved a little, but the spirits of the Wheatsheaf Inn just did not want to come forward. Maggie put her head through the door and said the downstairs was clear and we could start to investigate down there. So we moved the web cam and the board into the restaurant area of the location, the readings were Hum 26% Temp21.5c Then we tried the spirit board down there. On the board was Kelly, Paul, Alison and Elvis. Yes the glass did move, it was strange, very slow to start but then answered a few questions then slowed down again. Break While Jules and Alison were taking some pictures of the yard, Maggie bless her heart was in front of the web cam telling the viewers and the team some history on the location, So thanks for that Maggie you are a Star. We then all just split up and went to different parts of the public house and Hotel. Paul and Elaine decided to go back in one of the rooms, while Alison and Jules stayed in the yard. Hettie and Mandy went back to the Cromwell room and Kelly and Elvis went to the top of the hotel and sat either end of the corridor. Alison and Jules were walking around the bar area when we heard this really unusual sound, so we checked over the bar, yes the pumps and fridges were all turned on but the sound was not them. From the middle of the bar Maggie popped her head out and frightened the life out of us both, it turned out it was her mobile phone going off. By now time was getting on and it was time to bring this investigation to an end, so we gathered all our equipment together and left the spirits of the Wheatsheaf public house and hotel in peace. Kelly's conclusions: This is a wonderful building with tons of character and history, however, I must admit I was not convinced on my first visit that this building is remotely haunted. However not being a proffesional medium and not one to give up on a first attempt I do believe that armed with all the knowledge of a first visit we could do things differently as a team second time in. Therefore I am excited to be re-visiting this building later in the year. A few teams have been to this location and every team has given completely different names and genders and titles for visitors here, those of a ghostly nature, Im skeptical about this as in most cases money has been involved. I am determined to get to the bottom of this Hotel and Inn once and for all !!!
