Yarbridge Inn
14th of May 2010
We arrived at the location a little early, as this one was a later start than what the team is used to. But we where very lucky to do this location, as we only got the go ahead the week before, and Paul & Sharon Jenner the owners of the pub where having there fare well party on the 15th of May. So the V.I.P wish them luck with there future plans.
We all got ourselves a soft drink, the pub is a busy little pub, with just the one bar area. With a nice little model railway running around the ceiling, As from the out side it looks just like a very old railway station. We sat for a while soaking up the atmosphere of the jolliness of the locals. Some of them thought that we were a joke to mock us but we remained professional at all times. Once the bar bell was rung and the bar was empty, we got our equipment in and started our investigation into Yarbridge Inn. With Sharon and her eldest daughter joining in (well interested in how we work). Once everyone had left the pub Kelly mentioned to Alison that while getting her drink earlier she had a very light touch on the top of her head, also again when she visited the ladies loo, she said to this spirit that she knows they are there but we have just got to wait for all the people to go then you can have your say.
We then asked Sharon if it was ok for Elvis and Paul to go down to the cellar to take a few pictures and for Paul to place some of his EVP equipment down there. Once they had done that Paul set up his laptop to start on the EVP work in the main bar area, And Elvis got the camcorder ready for the night events. While they where doing this Alison, Jules and Kelly were taking photos with the digital cameras. Linda was sitting quietly in the corner, channelling into any spirit that may reside at the Yarbridge Inn, Linda heard the name Thomas Daily.
Alison took the first reading of the night which was Hum 57%
Temp 17.3c
But as we was taking the photo Linda had noticed a cold spot in the far end of the pub, so she called Alison over to see if she noticed it, which Alison did, when Alison took another reading it was Hum 55% and the
Temp was 19.6c.
We set the spirit board down the far end of the bar. On the board were Linda, Jules, Kelly and Chris. They all linked hands and Kelly asked the spirits not to be afraid of us or any of the equipment that they might see as it will not harm them. It seems that Linda was connecting to someone, she said Edward Thomas Daily and the date 1683 and he was very stressed, she said that her eyes were watering. Kelly then mentioned that she had a feeling of electricity running down her spine, (I guess like pins and needles) Paul then joined the circle of linked hands and all was quiet for a while then Paul also said that he could feel the energy down his arm and back too, Kelly had not lost the feeling.
They then placed their fingers on the glass, Kelly then asked:
Can you move the glass to the first letter of your name; the glass moved slowly towards the T then the V.
Kelly then asked: are you male and the glass moved to goodbye.
Linda then said that this man was very tall and thick set, and he had terrible teeth, bad breath. He was telling Linda that the building was not like it use to be and there was a bit missing. Also he was saying to her that he was looking for his toolbox, as he was a mechanic, this man came across very stroppy to Linda. “Oh what is missing is a shed” Linda said, she also noticed that she could taste Victoria V’s. The spirit backed away, so it was a good time for a break and let Linda catch her breath.
While some of the team were having a cold drink, Paul was talking to Alison and was saying when he saw the shadow moving about he felt as if he was in a swap area in cold water up to his knees. Then he felt Kelly rub his hand and he came back into the room, it was a weird feeling.
As it was getting late Alison took her last reading of the night Hum 58%
Temp 18.5c
And the team said their goodbyes to the landlady and daughter and wished them well in their new adventure. So the team packed away their equipment.
But we did not call it a night we all headed towards Knighton Gorge. Here the reading were Hum 49%
Temp24.9
We parked at the main gates and we took some photos, then we walked down a public track along side the new house.
We then headed back to the Yarbridge Inn because just about 100 yards up the road heading towards Bembridge is an old pillbox. Which we also decided to check out, the readings there were Hum 50%
Temp 20c
All these areas we visited are linked to each other at some point, so we decided to have them all done on the same night in order to gain a better understanding about the history. This can be read very soon in our history section.
In all the V.I.P team had a good night, however, the Yarbridge Inn might hold a dark secret that still needs to be unearthed.
